Railway transport is often used as a comfortable and non-expensive way to get from the airport to the city center. It is possible to reach target destination even without knowing a word in Japanese. Therefore, most foreign travelers get a first impression about Japan exactly from the first journey by train.
From Narita Airport
Passengers of the main air gate of Japan, Narita Airport, can use several option to get to the Tokyo center. JR Narita Express (N’EX) offers convenient ride to the Tokyo Station that provides direct connection to JR Yamanote loop line. The duration of journey is around one hour.
The private railway company Keisei operates trains to central, southern Tokyo and Haneda airport. Its premier service, the fast train called Skyliner, links the airport with Keisei Ueno and Nippori Stations. Passengers can enjoy the beautiful countryside landscapes travelling with a speed up to 160 km/h.
Those who are on a tight budget can board the cheap commuter train of Keisei Main Line. It departs every 20 minutes and gets to Keisei Ueno Station in 81 minutes.

From Haneda Airport
Visitors arrived to Haneda Airport can reach the downtown Tokyo by using Tokyo Monorail. The trip to Hamamatsucho Station on the JR Yamanote Line takes around 15-20 minutes. The first train departs on 4:58 am while the last one – around midnight.
Another option is to take Keihin Kyuko train that links airport with Shinagawa, one of the largest terminal stations in central Tokyo. The estimated duration of journey is 15-25 minutes.

From Kansai Airport
It is possible to travel from Kansai Airport to the Tennoji Station in southern Osaka and Shin-Osaka by JR Limited Express Haruka. The journey lasts from 30 to 50 minutes depending on the destination, passengers are welcome to reserve seats in advance. Another way to travel the same route is to take JR airport rapid train that runs a slightly slower.
Nankai Railways provide nice and pleasant ride to Namba Station with a direct access to subway network. Passengers should expect to spend 35-45 minutes in the hurtling carriage.

From Chubu Airport
Passengers of Chubu Airport are required to go to the Access Plaza near the Main Terminal, the departure point for trains heading to Nagoya. The first option is Meitetsu Airport Line that links the airport with Nagoya Station through Jingumae and Kanayama.
Rapid limited express μSKY runs the same route within 28 minutes. Passengers should pay extra ¥350 for the reserved seats.
